HARC - HiPer DSP capacity
How many HiPer DSP Single span can you install in a TC-1000 HiPer System chassis? And if you plan of putting just HiPer DSP Multi-Span card, how many can the HARC accomodate? --- Best regards, Gen
Up to 14 HiPer DSPs using 2 HiPer ARC. Split the HiPer Load in odd slots to HARC 1 and even slots to HARC 2 (if your calls fill the chassis from left to right) There are people running 15 HiPer DSPs to one ARC but that's risky. If you use Multi-Span I would add a second HARC at 4 and total out at 7 Multi-Spans. You could also have more capacity with the Newer ARC. We ran as many as 10 single-span HDSPs on a single vintage HARC but we noticed some flakyness (ie unexplainable or repeatable issues). We rebalanced to max 7 and no further problems. Not an expert opionion, but our own experiences. --jeff
