The USR TC's are capable of interfacing the modems over a telnet connection, or so-called reverse telnet. UTstar describes how to get this going, for instance: <quote> 1. set modem s(port#) active 2. set s(port#) login network dialin device /dev/network 3. set s(port#) service_dev telnet 6001 (or any telnet port) 4. set s(port#) service_login telnet 5. save s(port#) or save all 6. reset s(port#) or reset all
From the PC on the network telnet x.x.x.x (netserver ip address) 6001 You can now type AT commands </quote>
Connecting to the Netserver ('telnet x.x.x.x xxxx') works, but any typed characters seem to end up in a black hole. Nothing is echoed back, and typing stuff like ATIx etc triggers no response, either. Dip switch tweaking needed? Ideas? -- -o) Vegard Svanberg, CTO - XOIP Comm. Never used a netserver card but on the hiperarc's I believe if you issue an AT$ you can see the help commands and change things such as the echo.
