RE: [USR-TC] Can't get HDM_24 card to work.
Your NMC belongs in slot 17. Hiper ARC should be in slot 15 and/or 16. DSP's can be in the rest of the slots. Try that and see if it gets you any farther. - Joel -----Original Message----- From: Justin Wheeler [mailto:tc@datademons.com] Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 6:38 PM To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [USR-TC] Can't get HDM_24 card to work. As well, the NMC in this system is in port 16. list chassis doesn't show it though. That slot's listed as empty. ... would this normally happen, or is the card likely shot? It's a bit of a long shot, but once you've got everything set to what you think are the correct values, do a 'save to nvram' on all your dsps and a 'save all' on the arc. Then power down the whole mess and see if your problem is still there.
If that doesn't work, give us some specifics about the PRIs and your PRI settings.
Charles
I am positive the PRI going into the HDM cards are OK, because if I plug it into a portmaster, it works instantly.
The card in list chassis is listed correctly.
No matter what I do, it won't take calls, and I get "operational state: down" when I do list inter slot:1/mod:1 (or any other modem for that matter.)
I've tried 3 different cards in 3 different slots.
Is there anything blatant I'm missing?
My knowledge of USR-TC are somewhat limited.. (What I've leared trying to fix them..)....
Any help would be apprecitaed.

This might sound like a really silly question, but can a USR-TC chassis work and answer phone calls and let people on the Internet and generally function properly without a NMC? Yes. The NMC is not required. Seth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Justin Wheeler" <tc@datademons.com> To: <usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, March 07, 2003 6:44 PM Subject: RE: [USR-TC] Can't get HDM_24 card to work.

Hi, I have a USR TC "Enterprise Network Hub". It has NETServer PRI Card but no Hyper ARC card. It has Quad V.34 Modems. My telephone lines are analog. Does it need HyperARC to make the modems work? (Modems are not responding now. I tried with init string of different combinations. ) Ahsan --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - forms, calculators, tips, and more
You'll need to go into TCM, highlight the modems, choose "line interface options" and select "nic". Otherwise the modems are trying to talk to the T1/PRI card. The modems must also be labelled "analog/digital" on the front, or they will not take analog calls. Good luck, Charles -- Charles Sprickman spork@inch.com On Fri, 7 Mar 2003, Ahsan Shariful wrote:
