Hello, I'm hoping that and can get some input on a current project that my company is working on. We are in the process of converting are 5 quad-analog/digital v.32 total control modems and chassises to one newer total control chassis running all Hiper dsp 24 port modem cards and hiper arc routers and hiper nmc. I have the new chassis setup and working. I can dial in and connect and get out to the web. My problem is the customers that live close to our building can connect faster than 33.6 which is a good thing, but customers who live further out, connect at speeds of 28.8 or 26k or even slower. Those customers who connect slower when dialing in to this new modem pool, could connect at 31.2 or 28.8 when dialing in to the older v.34 quad analog chassises. My question is why do I have a down grade in speed moving up to newer faster equipment? Now the quad analog/digital v.34 modems have pots lines connected to the back of them. The hiper dsp cards have T1's connected to them for providing dial tone. Info on the chassises with the quad modems: 15 cards in each chassis quad analog/digital v.34 software version 6.1.86 Note: pots lines connected to back of cards not T1 lines 1 - Net Server card software version 3.8.1 20mb dram 2mb flash ram 1 - Network Mgmt card software ver 6.0.9 20mb dram 2mb flash ram Info on newer Total control chassis: 14 - High-density 24 channel hiper dsp cards software ver 3.5.12 Dram 8mb flash ram 2mb 2 - Hiper Arc Router cards software ver 5.3.3 dram 131mb flash ram 16mb 1 - Hiper NMC card software ver 8.7.3 dram 131mb flash ram 62mb Now, I do have v.92 enabled on the newer chassis and I've tried turning it off but the only difference with it off is, users seem to be able to login faster when they first dial up. The connection rate does not improve or degrade any. Again, how can I get my customers who are able to dial in to the older total control chassises and connect at 31.2 , dial in to the new chassis and connect at the same speed or better. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, jim
