We recently aquired two 3com/USR Total Control (network hub) with the quad modem cards. Both units are equipped like this: 1 T1/PRI card (NIC: RS-232 + span 1 + span 2) 12 quad modem cards (digital, no NICs) 1 Netserver PRI card (NIC: RS-232 + ethernet 1 + ethernet 2) 1 NMC (NIC: RS-232/EIA561 (CH1+2) + BNC/AUI/ethernet) Issue #1: On the Netserver PRI card, the RN/FL and LAN/TX leds are solid red, always. In TCM, the NAC isn't recognized at all (question mark). We tried to do a firmware upgrade, but pcsdl doesn't connect (all dip switches are off). Sometimes, if we boot the rack while pcsdl is trying to connect, the RN/FL will blink green about 10 times, then all the leds are shut off. It seems to only happen after we've physically re-seated the NAC/NIC, though. We try to flash it with li030421.sdl/li030534.nac. This may of course be a hardware problem, but the problem is on two totally separate units. Issue #2: Because of #1, we wanted to try upgrading the NMC. We only find <filename>.dmf files lying around, and TMC doesn't seem to like that file extension (configuration->software download only seem to accept .nac files). Any clues? UTstar didn't even respond when we asked them about their support rates/contracts. :/ -- -o) Vegard Svanberg, CTO - XOIP Comm. Wrong NIC. New one in place and the Netserver boots up like a charm. Thanks to Stephen Rivera. -- -o) Vegard Svanberg, CTO - XOIP Comm. (www.xoip.no) /\\ Violgata 3A, N-1776 HALDEN, NORWAY _\_v Phone: (+47) 69701802 | Fax: (+47) 69701801
