Question about Quad Modems D/A and outdials...
Hello, We're using a TC1000 chassis with some Quad Modem digital/analog v.90 cards as modems (via RS-232 card) dialing out over PRI for a legacy outdial application which dials out to a variety of ISDN and POTS modems. We seem to be having some strange issues when dialing some of the old Motorola Codex 33.6K modems. Does anyone have any experience in this area, or have you seen any compatibility issues between these modems (or others)? Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice you might be able to offer. Thanks, Todd
Todd, Do you know what model the Motorola/Codex modems are that you are trying to connect with? Hi Todd, Glad that's (mostly) working out for you... The quads are some of the best modems that USR ever made, I've had very very few instances where I ran into compatibility issues; in fact we used to keep a rack around for "problem customers". For starters, have you tried limiting the connect speed? What are the symptoms you're seeing? Drops once connected or difficulty in the initial handshake? Do you have other modems that connect out to the Motorola's on the same trunks with no issues? Charles -- Charles Sprickman spork@inch.com On Mon, 2 Jun 2003, Todd Williams wrote:
