RE: [USR-TC] Help with HiPer DSP Settings!!!!
Here's what I'd do: Restore your DSP to factory defaults. Save Settings, Reboot it. In Trunk Settings, change nothing, just set the PRI Switch Type to DMS100. Save Settings, Reboot it. At this point, the DSP is set correctly. Then connect to the console port on the ARC. Do a "list chassis" and see that the slot the DSP is in is owned by the Hiper ARC. If so, it should answer the line. If not, it's the Telco's problem. Don't consider myself an expert, but that ALWAYS works - I've set up dozens, if not hundreds, of these, and it is ALWAYS the same. Hope that helps. Thanks, Joel -----Original Message----- From: Kirti S. Hello List: Just to remind again that I am a newbie and it is my first attempt to configure 3COM TC. For the last 10 days, I am trying to configure a 3 Com Chassis (1-HiPer NMC, 2-Hiper ARC & 10-Hiper DSP). When I connect the incoming PRI/ISDN line (23B + 1D Channel) to a DSP Span, the PRI/ISDN line goes down. When I try to dial the line, a Telco message "All lines busy now. This is a temporary condition..." is announced. The same line works fine when connected to Ariel RS4200 modem bank. Ariel RS4200 settings are: (1) Phone Number: 727-9809 This is the dial-in number (2) Protocol: ISDN Choices are ISDN & RBS (3) Protocol Var: Nortel DMS-100 Choices are NI-2, AT&T 4ESS, AT&T 5ESS & Nortel DMS-100 (4) Line Coding: B8ZS Choices are AMI & B8ZS (5) Framing Format: ESF Choices are ESF, ESF-Suppression & D4 (6) LBO: 0dB Choices are 0dB, -7.5dB, -15dB, -22.5dB (7) CSU: ENABLE Choices are ENABLE & DISABLE I think HiPer DSP has setting numbers: 3, 4, 5 & 6 and I have set them up correctly. I have called Telco (Sprint) and they do not want to talk about it. I need help in determining which setting I am missing or entering wrong. I hope I get few suggestions because I plan to work tonight & tomorrow to fix this problem. Wish me good luck!
