RE: [USR-TC] Hardware version numbers
pretty sure they go up - seems like the low numbered DSP's have USR Printed on the front, higher numbers don't and all of the higher numbered ones look newer. Be aware that the hardware revision reported by the ARC's is not reliable - when you flash the ARC's the hardware rev can change, for example, every ARC with 5.3.110 on it says it is a 17, even if it was a 23 before the flash. - Joel -----Original Message----- From: VCI Help Desk [mailto:admin@vci.net] Sent: Thursday, May 08, 2003 8:40 AM To: USR-TC@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [USR-TC] Hardware version numbers Do the hardware version numbers go up or down? I have several TCs and the DSP cards have hardware version numbers like 50, 52, 53. I was wondering if the hardware numbers went up or down because of how the software numbering can be confusing at times. Yeah, that's what I thought but wasn't positive. I called the tech support group we use at Source Technology and was told the hardware version numbers tell where the cards were manufactured at and have no bearing on the card's performance. The reason why I was asking is because we have some newer TCs (from AOL) and some older ones and the version numbers seem to mix. I haven't been able to look at the electronics on the card but the green utilization LEDs on the front are a little different on some of them.
