Toddd,

Thanks I had a painful 3 hours testing card by card and slot by slot, had isolated about 4 slots, just when I thought we had it figured out after running for almost an hour it restarted. This was after a successfully upgrade of the firmware on the Hiper Access Card because we had managed to finally connect into it using TCM (Total Control Manager). What kind of further information would you require?

A variety of things could be going wrong seeing that there are several "pieces" to a total control chassis. You say you've already tried removing dsp's one by one to see if that stops the reboots. In the past I've also had experience with a NMC card causing the reboots or even a bad slot on the chassis.  Basically you're rolling the dice and having to pay close attention to figure out if it's another card or slot causing your headaches.

As far as the console not working.....

Are you plugged into the console port? (the top port on the nic)

Are you using the standard total control cable or something you made? (have you been able to get console with this cable before?)

Are you baud settings correct?  On the front portion of the arc (the nac) are any of the dip switches on?

Do you get garbage on your screen when trying to console or do you see nothing at all? Any additional information you can provide would help.  Can you telnet into the arc?

Todd

Subject: [USR-TC] Hiper Access Card keeps re

I have a Total Control with 7 Hiper DSP cards with E1 lines and 8 Quad V.34/ANALOG cards with analog lines. We had a power failure for about 30 Minutes because the back generator failed to start.  After power came back everything seems fine till the following day. The Hiper Access Router Card is now resetting itself after different intervals. Sometimes it can go for 5 minutes or even 30 minutes the just resets itself and drops all the current connections. I have tried removing the DSP Cards one by one but still no joy. I have tried switching off the whole system for a while but still no luck. Now I am trying to get into the Hiper Access card through console but I can’t get in. Please help what can I do

Greg
