My chassis has two dual 10/100 HiPer Arc nic cards, nmc, 14 HiPer span cards.
Is there are way to assign the ethernet ports to specific subnets, with an address pool specific to that port's subnet, and assign certain spans to that ethernet port?
In other words.. visually:
Slot 15, Ethernet Port #1, subnet A, IP Pool A, Span Cards 1-3 Slot 15, Ethernet Port #2, subnet B, IP Pool B, Span Cards 4-6 Slot 16, Ethernet Port #1, subnet C, IP Pool C, Span Cards 7-9 Slot 16, Ethernet Port #2, subnet D, IP Pool D, Span Cards 10-14
I don't remember any way to do this with just the TC. Keep in mind the TC doesn't have any control over what modem the client dials into. That is between you and your circuit provider. Most commonly this would be handled through a seperate dial pool number. This concerns the span cards portion of the question. You can assign ownership of a modem card to a hiparc something like: set chassis slot 1 owner yes from the hiperarc you want to own it. From the left to the right on your example you could: You could configure each interface with a different ip/subnet. add ip pools a & b to arc on slot 15. set ownership of cards 1-6 for arc on slot 15. assign pool a to users via radius based on username or DNIS. assign a filter to stop routing between the different groups if required Todd might know of a way to do it entirely in the chassis but I don't. -- Lewis Bergman Texas Communications 4309 Maple St. Abilene, TX 79602-8044 Off. 325-691-3301 Cell 325-439-0533 fax 325-695-6841
