Hello,
I have a Chassis that is populated with 14 Hiper DSP cards, 2 Hiper Arc Router cards and 1 Hiper NMC. I need to setup the odd # dsp cards to use the 1st router card and the even # dsp cards to use the 2nd router card. My second task is on each card I've been asked to setup a separate IP address pool. Example: DSP card in slot 1, assign an address pool starting with 192.168.0.1 that has 24 addresses. slot 3, assign an address pool starting with 192.168.0.25 that has 24 addresses. And so on, so forth.
Any takers on this issue? Any help would be appreciated.
Easy, You should statically assign the DSP's to each ARC, but first disable chassis awareness, DSA and DSA Idle rebalancing on both arc's. Then create the static assignments. Create the pools you need with proper subnet size. This is what I did for our chassis', this made good use of the ip space. ARC1 (ODD DSP's) ip-pool1 x.x.x.1/26 62 32 PUBLIC NO_AGGREGATE 0 1 ACTIVE ip-pool2 x.x.x.65/26 62 27 PUBLIC NO_AGGREGATE 0 1 ACTIVE ARC2 (EVEN DSP's) ip-pool1 x.x.x.129/26 62 24 PUBLIC NO_AGGREGATE 0 1 ACTIVE ip-pool2 x.x.x.193/26 62 29 PUBLIC NO_AGGREGATE 0 1 ACTIVE The static DSP assignment "how to" is available on the 3com KB, there are a variety of ways to set this up. I prefer using a static assignment system since it is (IMO) the most reliable method, at least for our system. - Mike ------------------------------------------------ Rock Island Communications, Inc.
