I've found that when they misbehave a stun gun usually helps. The modem won't work anymore, but it sure makes the tech feel better. :-) Actually, I just finally got all my DSP's up to 3.5.109 and I just happen to have a V.90 USR External Sportster sitting here. I'll give it a try later on and let you know what happens for me. -----Original Message----- From: Walt Gnann [mailto:wgnann@islc.net] Sent: Tuesday, January 28, 2003 2:14 PM To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [USR-TC] Problem with USR Sportster 56K and v.92 Thanks for the response Joel. Actually, the Sportster in question is an older v.90 external version. The only problem I've encountered with the Sportster v.92 Winmodems is once they've tasted v.92 on a particular number they don't want to go back to v.90 if we disable v.92 on the TC. Must have something to do with the quick connect memory. Walt ----------------------------------------------- Walter N. I enabled v.44 data compression and all the v.92 settings on the HDSPs. I had a few problems with folks staying connected while the v.92 PCM Upstream setting was enabled. Basically they would connect fine then get dropped after a few minutes with a failure to retrain error. So, I disabled PCM and everything seemed fine. Newest problem is with a Sportster 56K modem. It will start to handshake then a second or two into the handshake it will give a long, high pitched tone and fail to connect. If I disable the v.92 master setting on the HDSP it will connect just fine. Has anyone else encountered this? Any suggestions? Walt ----------------------------------------------- Walter N.
