This is probably a stupid question, but are you reconfiguring SPANs 2 and 3 for D channels? Also, does it break in SPAN 4 as well? I have used D channels on 1 and 4. I don't recall if I ever tried it on SPAN 2 or 3. If this is an NFAS setup, you will need to save and reboot for the changes to take effect properly. Also if it is NFAS, make sure you have your Device/Group setup as the TELCO specified. NFAS primary/backup D channel designation is ARC controlled. I also found that sometimes when a D won't come up you can throw it in lineloop a second or two and then drop the loop to bring it up. Along the same lines, in NFAS you can ask the telco to drop the NFAS group and bring it back up. -----Original Message----- From: usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Lewis Bergman Sent: Thursday, October 21, 2004 7:41 AM To: Discussion relating to the 3Com/US Robotics Total Control modem systems. hi,
i am experiencing the following problem.
- in a HiperDSP Multispan nic when i use the first span the d-channel comes up nicely and i am able to connect and surf...
but whenever, i try to swing the same line from first span to second/thrid span on the nic the nac always have a d-channel alarm.. and gives me fast busy tone on dialin.
any suggestions/ideas would be more then welcome. Since I have never even seen a multispan DSP much less used one I have absolutely no idea and any thing I might say may be discounted as the ravings of a lunatic.
Having said that, Are all the span ports occupied or are you trying to do this with only one? If only one maybe the DSP expects to see the D channel on the first port and not on any of the rest? Like I said, no idea. -- Lewis Bergman Texas Communications 4309 Maple St. Abilene, TX 79602-8044 325-691-3301 800-299-6962 _______________________________________________ USR-TC mailing list USR-TC@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/usr-tc
