Something like the following i believe: add modem_group <group name> interface Slot:#/mod:# <Enter> add network service <network service name> service telnetd socket 6002 data service_type=dialout,auth=off,modem_group=?type the modem group name? <Enter> list network services <Enter> *** Make sure the service is enabled list users <Enter> *** Verify that "default" user is enabled save all <Enter> Telnet into the HiPer ARC port you specified. (e.g. telnet 10.10.10.52 tcp_port 6002) After connecting, type AT and then press enter. The modem should respond and OK which indicates that you have made a successful connection to a modem. *Note* I seem to remember (might have been dependent on the hiperarc code you're running) that the only way I could get the network service enabled was to actually mistype the add network service command so that instead of typing 'modem_group' I mispelled it 'modem_grop'. It took...at it worked. Heh...3com. So you could enter AT commands and see the responses and such. Does anyone happen to know how to set that up, as I've forgotten over the years and it no longer seems to be in my active configs? -- ISN Support Staff <support@isn.net> ISN Internet Incorporated _______________________________________________ USR-TC mailing list USR-TC@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/usr-tc
