Yes, we install MOH software and we're pretty confident that the problem was caused by the latest 1.70 version of the MOH software. We're finding that the MOH feature is far and away the most sought after feature. After years of dwindling interest in dial-up, we're again signing people up at a really healthy pace, and mostly it's because they can accept phone calls while online. Sure, it's not the same as ADSL, but it's half the price, and for half the people, it's all they want. Actually, for us, this is the deciding factor for which modem to provide. I really like the Intel based modems better, but I havn't seen a MOH application that's nearly as good as the Agere's. I don't think it's very good either, but it's the best thing out there that I've seen. Some of them have half a dozen clicks to accept a phone call, and if you do anything in the wrong order, you miss the call. The Lucent Application is pretty good, so we're stuck on Agere modems for now. :-) Todd Chamberlain ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Farber" <farber@admin.f-tech.net>
I've been giving out the Agere v.92's for a two months and have not run accross this issue. We do not give out any MOH software so it may be the MOH app.
What DSP version are you using? I have .109 installed and its not an issue that I've heard much about.

I'm not sure I got any responses to this Agere Modem issue, but we may have come up with a solution if anyone else has encountered the 'only analog phone lines are supported' error message when using some of these iBlitzz / Lucent / Phoebe / Lunar / SV92 Chipset modems if anyone is interested. :-) I just though I'd post it here incase anyone needs help, or in case someone searches the archives at some point. :-)

Hello. We have a Total Control V.92 / HiperDSP Chassis to offer V.92 dialup service. We are very pleased with V.92 as a whole.
However, we have a problem with a couple dozen Agere V.92 Modem users in that they get an error message that reads...
"Connected Phone Line is not compatible with this modem. Only Analog Phone Lines are Supported"
This is of course NOT a real digital / analog issue, since these are a number of regular home users connected to regular home phone lines, and in most cases, their modems work fine for week before starting to do this. In some cases, people can reboot their computers and it'll work OK for another day/week before it has the same problem again.
I know the easy suggestion is to switch to a different modem, which would be fine, but we haven't seen a good, working Modem On Hold application on anything except the Agere modems. There are functional MOH Apps for the Intel Chipset & the Connexant modems, but they either don't display the Caller ID info, or they are cumbersome to the point of failure; requiring 4 or 5 mouse clicks to accept a phone call. However, if someone can suggest a good V.92 modem that works well with HiperDSP V.92 code and has a good MOH Application, that would be a great solutions as well. :-)
This seems only to affect V.92 Agere Soft Modems and only some of them. I've been to ModemSite.com to see, and there is no help there, so I thought I'd post it here for help... Please...
