Authentication works fine on this box. I still believe the problem is that the modems are showing operator status down when you dow a show interfaces from the command line. I'm guessing there is some way to map the ds0's to modems via the netserver manager program. The only thing that stucks: all interfaces are operational down. And a HARC tries normally to authenticate itself to the other end with:
Netserver
One can see this via:
show system
=> system transmit authentication...
Perhaps you can go for more up-2-date software?
