I believe these are also accessed by right-clicking on any particular field within TCM. The HTML file it brings up should show oid, description, and range of available values. Most any field you can see in TCM, can be right-clicked for additional info. I don't think you'll find a why or how in the descriptions though. It's been my experience with TCs, that the documentation is never quite enough in this matter. Subject: RE: [USR-TC] 3Com TC Software?? Hi Kirti, If you take a look inside the \3comapps\tcm\html directory, there are a bunch of HTML files that show a brief description of what all the fields mean. If you click help on any of the screens it should bring up the HTML for that particular card. On Mon, 2003-09-15 at 10:22, Kirti S. Bajwa wrote:

I have installed the software without any problem.
As far as the settings are concerned, there are several fields for each setting for each card, which need a value. I do not think TCM goes in detail about these fields. I was hoping that there was another document which might go into detail as to what a field is in a card? What are the choices and why?
I will do some more reading today and also hope somebody can also recommend reading material.
Thanks.
Kirti

P.S. I'm running V5.3.3 on both my ARCs, both are up for 2 months. I still didn't noticed anything unusual.

1) I think you would have no problem downgrading your ARC's software.
2) I think that TCM can explain you what some fields mean (for your DSPs and NMC). What card's settings interest you?

I am going to install 5.3.3 so I can proceed. Can you answer the
following
two questions?:
1) If I install 5.3.3 on HiPer ARC & 3.5.12 on HiPer DSP and later want to step down to the lower versions, is there any problem?
2) Do you know which documentation covers various settings in detail for these cards?
Thanks. You are always very helpful.
