OK Kevin. To refresh the problem, some of our customers were getting an error reporting that the "Connected phone line is not compatible with this modem. Only analog Phone Lines are supported." Of course, the phone lines were regular home analog lines and not digital lines, so it was the error message that was in error (Captain Kirk would be so proud!) We've been tried to issolate this for a couple weeks, and as it turns out, we think, to be the MOH version 1.70 from ModemSite.com that is the culprit. We're emailing them separately to let them know what we've discovered. It was also tricky to track down, since we've done about 150 Agere installs in the last couple month's, and mostly with no problems. However, in the recent weeks, we've had over a dozen people report this issue. To add stress, the computers would usually work just fine when brought into the shop. Finally, this morning, we had a computer that displayed the problem every time we tried it in the shop. We could reboot and get the same problem evertime. Good deal, at least we could tinker with it now. :-) We tried various modem drivers, changes PCI slots and changed modem cards, all with the same bad results. Finally arrived at ver 1.70 of the MOH application was causing the problem. If we went back to 1.68, it worked no problem. When we re-installed 1.70, the problem immediately came back. If we ran no MOH application, at all, there was also no problem. We had been running Version 2.1.22 and 2.1.23 of the modem drivers on most computers and of course, we used the latest MOH application (1.70) as a guy is supposed to, but in this case, that's what seems to be the problem. So, we're back to driver version 2.1.23 & MOH version 1.68 for new installs and we're expecting that this will work fine, without the "connected line is not compatible with this modem" error. - Todd Chamberlain ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin Hemsley" <kev@ida.net>

Hello. We have a Total Control V.92 / HiperDSP Chassis to offer V.92 dialup service. We are very pleased with V.92 as a whole. However, we have a problem with a couple dozen Agere V.92 Modem users in that they get an error message that reads... "Connected Phone Line is not compatible with this modem. Only Analog Phone Lines are Supported"
