Here's my 3:00 in the morning notes on how to do it. To re-number NMC's through Total Control Manager: 1. Open up Total Control Manager and select the chassis containing the NMC to be renumbered. 2. Once the chassis is Âdiscovered by Total Control, select the NMC slot by clicking on it. 3. Go to the ÂConfigure menu, and then select ÂProgrammed SettingsÂ. 4. From the ÂProgrammed Settings menu, select ÂUser Interface Configuration 5. Click on the box containing the information you would like to change. (A thicker black border indicates which box is selected. 6. Three pieces of information need to be modified 1.)Select the LAN IP Address box and enter the IP for which you want assigned to the NMC. 2.) Enter the LAN Subnet Mask number. 3.)Finally, Select the DeFault Gateway box and enter the Gateway number. 7. After the three (3) changes have been made; click on the ÂOK button on the right-hand side on the screen. 8. Then go to the ÂConfigure menu and select ÂAction/Commands 9. In ÂAction/Commands select Âsoftware in the left-hand ÂCommand to Execute window and in the window just to the right, select option ÂSave UI to EEPROM from the drop down menu by clicking on it to select. Then click the ÂExecute button in the upper right-hand corner. 10. After the command is successfully executed, perform a ÂSoftware reset by going back to the ÂConfigure menu and again selecting ÂActions/Commands . In the ÂCommands to Execute left-hand box select ÂSoftware and in the right-hand box select ÂSoftware ResetÂ. Click the ÂExecute button. When completed successfully, click close. CONTINUED 11. Go into Total Control Manager and add a new chassis. To do this; from the opening Âgrey screen of TCM, choose ÂFile and select ÂNew from the drop down list. Enter the new IP of the NMC. 12. Once this chassis is finished being configured as a new device, select the device from the list of created devices and open it up. (This is to be sure the new device can be discovered using itÂs new IP) 13. If the device is discovered and viewed in TCM, then delete the Âold device config in TCM. 14. I can telnet to the chassis, but I do not see any command to change the NMC settings. Anybody have any ideas? If more info is needed, please let me know.
