I know that this has been out and about on numerous occasions.. But I need to know where I can find the information for setting up OSPF on my hiperarcs in conjuntion with my Cisco 3640. If anyone can tell me how to configure the HiperArcs or can point me to the usr-tc archive for the answer I would truly appreciate it!
Currently I have 3 total control hubs that have STATIC routes in my Cisco.
Search for posts by myself, Jeff McAdams and Marshal Morgan, we have posted configurations for OSPF setups with cisco before. I'm currently running OSPF on several 5.x ARC's with Cisco 7206's (previously 3640). I'm using Radius to assign dynamic and static IP's (including subnets) to the users. In a nutshell you want to do the following: Cisco - setup ospf - set priority (designated rtr stuff) - set ospf authentication key - set networks to be announced 3COM - enable ospf - enable absr - create "send policies" for static subnets and dynamic pools - create authentication method and key - modify ethernet interface to use OSPF On 3COM you must be using 4.32.2 or later for decent OSPF support, also most OSPF configuration you can do via the GUI, but sometimes you have to use the CLI to get certain commands to work right. You will quickly notice that you have to enable and then disable OSPF globally for some setup configurations. Basically you will have to bounce back and forth between enabling and setup and disabling and then finally re-enabling the OSPF support on the ARC to configure OSPF. Check the archives, if you run into trouble email me and I'll give you some config's directly from my equipment to help. - Mike ------------------------------------------------ Rock Island Communications, Inc.
