Local authentication would be individual users created on the ARC. Therefore not requiring authentication from outside RADIUS servers. These are accounts such as root or adm. You would create the accounts with 'add user name pass password' -----Original Message----- From: usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Kirti S. Subject: [USR-TC] Local users Authentication While reading 3COM TC1000 documentation for HiPer ARC, I noticed two settings; (1) enable authentication remote & (2) enable authentication local. I believe that 'authentication remote' is to authenticate the user on a remote server, such as RADIUS. However, I do not know what the 'authenticate local' setting is? Can someone explain.
