Dial in File & Print Sharing I have a USR Total Control 1000 box I was using for dial in internet, it now resides inside our LAN setup to allow dial in for file & print sharing. I reprogrammed the Ips etc. for the internal setup, when I dial in I can ping, access web pages, ftp etc. from the dial in to the server, but to the same server I cant get to the network shares. I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 on the laptops, I have file & print sharing enabled for the dial up adapter and when I have it dial into the server via an external modem and Microsofts Dial in, it works. However I need over 40 laptops to dial into the USR and file & print sharing work. I had it working in the past, but we didn't need it then so I did some things to disable it and I honestly don't recall what I need to do to reenable it. Any help appreciated Clint Russell clint@1starnet.com -----Original Message----- From: usr-tc-bounces+clint=1starnet.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:usr-tc-bounces+clint=1starnet.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of usr-tc-request@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Wednesday, October 18, 2006 2:29 PM To: usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com Subject: USR-TC Digest, Vol 42, Issue 1 Send USR-TC mailing list submissions to usr-tc@mailman.xmission.com To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/usr-tc or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to usr-tc-request@mailman.xmission.com You can reach the person managing the list at usr-tc-owner@mailman.xmission.com When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of USR-TC digest..." However, I do have certain boxes that reboot much more frequently and they handle a higher volume of calls. All of the hardware is of the same age. So, it made me think maybe there is something like a memory leak in TCS that after X amount of time, the card effectively dies and reboots. You would think would have been the case a long time ago though. Which versions of code are you running and do you know what the latest is? I suppose the cards could also reboot more often with higher volume due to aging as well, it just seems very odd. Thanks, Adam
I've been noticing the same thing on our dialup pools. I wonder if it is more age related than software?

Hello everyone,
After cancelling my support contracts years ago due to a lack of updates and decent support, I'm trying to figure out the latest version of TCS as I've recently started to see random HiperARC reboots and subsequent dialin problems.
Source Technology seems to have let their website go, anyone have any details on the latest DSP/ARC combos?
I'm currently running 5.0.9 on my ARCs and 3.5.12 on my HiperDSP PRI cards. I've been running this particular combination for at least 3-4 years it seems and have recently noticed an increase in random reboots, more of them occuring on the higher volume boxes than the lower ones. Before that, I believe the latest and greatest was 2.1.9 for DSPs and some 4.x code for the ARCs, but that was too long ago to remember at this point.
Thanks for any input.
Adam

The second guy usually responds slower, but can find you almost everything at decent prices :) --- Aaron Nabil <nabil@nccom.com> wrote:

We are a small ISP located in Mountain City, TN with about 400+ Internet dial-in customers. We are looking into the possibility of selling our ISP operations. If you are interested in expanding into northeast Tennessee, this would be a great opportunity. We also own a 5760+ SF Class-A (expandable to 8500 SF) brick building in downtown Mountain City, TN. This building is fully wired for network, a computer room with 200 Amp dedicated power supply and its own climate control. If you are interested in expanding your administrative offices or call centers, this building is also available at very reasonable lease rates or for sale. This area is part of a Hub Zone, so there are huge tax benefits for setting up shop here. Mountain City, TN is very desirable area, with mountains, lakes, skiing, golf, etc. Also, the cost of doing business here is less than half of what it would be in other parts of the country. Finally, TN-based Internet companies are sales tax exempt. We can also help you get establish in E-TN. Please feel free to contact me for further information. Kirt TIB Computer Systems, Inc. They are not the latest code, but they are the last that work with TCM. They have been relatively stable - I reboot the racks 2 - 3 times per year when they seem to be dropping calls excessively. I have not had random reboot problems. On 16 Sep 2006 at 12:47, Adam Olson wrote:
