Null modem connection is required. Factory cable is a RJ45 to RS232 Male, they include NULL MODEM, which would require a DB25 male from pc interface cable. I have them here. If you need one let me know. reply off list...Thanks. At 11:46 AM 7/1/2004 -0400, you wrote:
We are in the process of renumbering our network. We have a Total Control chassis that needs to have it's IP addresses changed, as well as the IP pools changed.
In the past using HARM, I found it difficult to manipulate network settings.
If I connect to the HARC using the consol cable, can I use the CLI "reconfigure" command to change the Eth1 and Eth2 ip addresses? I am assuming that I will also be able to add a new dialup IP pool and disable/remove the old one via console as well? It's been a long time since I've had to touch this box and I am a little rusty with the HARC CLI.
What type of cable is needed for console access? I cannot locate the console cable that the unit would have come with. The docs illustrate a RJ45 cable with a DB25 connector on the end, then it states to add a null-modem adapter to the end to connect to a PC serial port. I have no problem with the null modem adapter, but what about that DB25 connector -- how is it pinned-out? Can I purchase this cable somewhere? Will a Cisco console cable work on it?
Thanks,
