You'll need to upgrade from TCS 4.3 to 4.5, if you don't you will (most likely) have modem handshake/connection/call handling problems. This snippit was from an individual that did a very similar upgrade as you are suggesting. A downgrade to TCS 4.3 and then back up to TCS 4.5 fixed his problem. V92 features were confirmed working after the re-upgrade to TCS 4.5
Hi again tnx a lot for a quick reply, this is the scenario i got NMC version8.6.3 hiper arc 5.3.3 then Hiper DSP 3.5.12 so i upgraded my
tcs
4.0 to tcs 4.5, i got problem when i use the 4.5 version i mean it does not connect using a dial-up connection i got a busy tone. So kindly help me what is the problem, it is possible of my e1r2 configuration?
If you have already upgraded to 4.5, make sure you prep your downgrade to TCS 4.3 otherwise you'll end up with paperweights. To do this, console in to the HiperDSP, chdev mdm1 then enter at-re1 and reboot. Downgrade code to 4.3 on reboot. After you have a successful 4.3 configuration that takes calls, upgrade to tcs 4.5 -----Original Message----- From: usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:usr-tc-bounces+adam=semo.net@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Lewis Bergman Sent: Thursday, April 08, 2004 10:25 AM To: jeff@mercury.jorsm.com; Discussion relating to the 3Com/US Robotics Total Control modemsystems. Since I still have old hardware on the old code I'm safe and only risk trashing the three cards I've upgraded. But still back where I started, with v.92 code but no v.92 yet. Oh the joys of delegating responsibility! Has anyone successfully jumped across several TCS versions before and lived to tell about it? I haven't pleaded to utstar yet to see if they'll let me have the in-between versions, plus I'd hate to have to do so many stinking upgrades anyway to get to TCS4.5. Plus without hardware upgrades, I think I have the latest software I'm going to get. I can remember the steps but if you are on real old code you do have to step up. Some others on the list might know from what to what. -- Lewis Bergman Texas Communications 4309 Maple St. Abilene, TX 79602-8044 915-695-6962 ext 301 800-299-6962
