Sorry, new to this stuff, how do I do a reverse telnet to the DSP?
I have a support contract, which is where I got the .103 code. The reason was an attempt to solve another problem that may be related. Using a Lucent/Agere Winmodem, I can dial either of the other two service providers in town (both running Total Control Hardware) and get 49333 connections. Dialing my own equipment, the best I can get is 46666. Many of my users are getting connections as high as 52000, but I can't from my location, telling me something is not right. The .103 code was an attempt to fix that.
Sounds to me like maybe you have an issue with a phone quality at your location. If you and your users are all using the same equipment and the only difference is location. Take your setup to one of your customers if they will let you and do a comparison test.
In addition, I have been unable to get a true V.92 connection. I get the quick-connect, and I get V.44 compression, but no upstream PCM. CommWorks support said this was probably a modem problem, but otherwise gave no good explanation. Look at http://modemsite.com/ There was a pretty detailed story about several ISP's that upgraded to v.92 code and the PCM was slower than normal upstream rates. Maybe you should be glad you aren't getting PCM ;) -- Lewis Bergman Texas Communications 4309 Maple St. Abilene, TX 79602-8044 915-695-6962 ext 115
