Seems to me that it occurs most often when dealing with TCS 4.3 and TCS 4.2 DSPs in the same chassis with ARC/NMC at TCS4.3 Not to mention tcs4.5 and tcs4.3 Chassis, that's terrible. One thing to try might be to set it in console. Things just seem to work better when issued from command line. The following will show you how to setup remote console access to the HiperDSP on Slot 1. HiperARC> add modem_group DSP1 interface SLOT:1/CON:1 add network service DSP1 server_type telnetd socket 6011 data auth=off,service_type=dialout,modem_group="DSP1" Telnet to IP of that ARC tcp port 6011 and then enter console password
(if using PRI, message oriented) Chdev span Set swtype DMS100 Cmd svspcfg (if using robbed bit T1) Chdev span Set sigmode msg (unless you are using PRI, you will have to do this before changing switch type) Set swtype DMS100 Set sigmode robbit Cmd svspcfg Close Telnet session. HiperARC> Disable Network Service DSP1 (or for good measure you can then delete it also) Delete Network Service DSP1 -- Adam Barnhill Support Engineer, TotallyFabricated.com Information Technology Engineer, Poplar Bluff Internet, Inc. / Semo.net P.O. Subject: RE: [USR-TC] Error Trying to change Switch Type in TCM Didn't see if anyone else helped on this, but I thought I'd share my thoughts - This has happened to me before. One thing may be if you are trying to change a bunch of DSP's all at once. Do fewer at a time or even one at a time and you may not get the error. Another thing - if I remember correctly this happened once or twice when the firmware between the cards was incompatible, for example 3.5.109 on the DSP's and 6.x on an old 486 NMC (just an example, don't know for sure if these were the versions) Hope this helps, thanks, Joel -----Original Message----- From: Cindy Smith [mailto:cindyo@ktc.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 28, 2003 10:08 AM To: USR-TC@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [USR-TC] Error Trying to change Switch Type in TCM Hi, I am using Total Control Manager Windows Version 8.2.6 When every I try to change the Switch type on a HiperDSP card using TCM Windows, I get a Generic Error concerning the Switch Type OID.
