Make your V92 settings in Template 1. make sure Template 1 is assigned to all modems on a given card. init strings for US Robotics v92

Does anyone here know the init string to force a US Robotics v.92 modem down to v.34? Software compression. Any ideas?

I want to enable software compression on my chassis (stac, ascend, mppc). I think that if I enable it some users will get more download speed (when downloading not compressed information - like html sites). What can affect ccp on my chassis and on client side? Does ccp take memory and/or cpu (if yes - how much)? What compression is better? ( 120+ connects on HiperARC 64Mb. DSP - E1/R2 )

How do you get there? Maybe send me a link to the search page? Or better, to the MPIP examples? I found some [vague] info in a Hiper ARC Product Reference I have, but not very good examples of the configuration. NMC Chassis Awareness

I have disabled nmc chassis awareness and statically linked dsp cards to arc. When I do LIST CHASSIS HiPer Access Router NAC's Type is DYNAMIC. Do I have to statically link arc too?

make sure there are no conflicts between lan and wan and wan2. Sorry to disagree, but I think that's totally wrong. i've been running 3.5.105 and then 3.5.109 for months, both with all the V.92 stuff enabled, and none of my V.90 or V.34 customers have reported any problems. If you want to run v92, you need to setup it's own trunk(s) and just configure those DSPs. So, your config can be as such: DSP 1-4 = v90 = 555-1212 DSP 5-8 = v92 = 555-1213 If a v90 (or below) tries to connect to span 5-8, no workie joe. Make sense? Why you ask? The v92 send back info (via the handshake), and the v90 does not know how to handle it, and it fails. Hope that helps!
