hi all I have dual pri e1 card on my tc. does it supports ntt switch type(Japanese isdn)? I couldn't find ntt in "pri trunk setting -->primary isdn switch type set" option when using tcm. Regards Shahrooz

Your NMC belongs in slot 17. Hiper ARC should be in slot 15 and/or 16. DSP's can be in the rest of the slots. Soft Busy - busy out unused trunks without dropping connected calls. As connected users disconnect, the trunks they were using become busy. Can't get HDM_24 card to work.

I have just configured a new USR-TC to go into production. But the slots containing the modems continue to stay in "Operational State: Down" mode.. I am positive the PRI going into the HDM cards are OK, because if I plug it into a portmaster, it works instantly. The card in list chassis is listed correctly. No matter what I do, it won't take calls, and I get "operational state: down" when I do list inter slot:1/mod:1 (or any other modem for that matter.) I've tried 3 different cards in 3 different slots. Is there anything blatant I'm missing? My knowledge of USR-TC are somewhat limited.. (What I've leared trying to fix them..).... John, Fixed assignment on modems means if a call from the telco comes in on span 1 channel one, it will hit modem 1 in slot one. If you set it to round robin, a call that comes in on span 1, channel 1, might hit modem card 1 channel 15. What you don't have control over is the TELCOs call routing method (of course, you can call them and request a different routing method). YOU can only control MODEM call routing assignments for calls that hit a particular modem. Same principle: Round Robin from the telco gives you equal distribution/usage of all cards. Round Robin set on the DSP will give you even distribution/usage of modems on that card. In the example below, if you have your DSP's set to distribute calls in a fixed assignment fashion, then you can be pretty sure you received calls from the telco on Span 1/Ch 24 Span 1/ch 22 Span 2/ch 24 Span2/Ch 1 Hope that helps... IP address Pool questions

Hello, I have a Chassis that is populated with 14 Hiper DSP cards, 2 Hiper Arc Router cards and 1 Hiper NMC. I need to setup the odd # dsp cards to use the 1st router card and the even # dsp cards to use the 2nd router card. My second task is on each card I've been asked to setup a separate IP address pool. Example: DSP card in slot 1, assign an address pool starting with 192.168.0.1 that has 24 addresses. slot 3, assign an address pool starting with 192.168.0.25 that has 24 addresses. And so on, so forth. Any takers on this issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, jim

I'm trying to set up fixed assignment modem routing on a TC1000 running TCS 4.2.73 with two HiPER DSP's running 2.1.9 attached to channelized T1's. I've used both the DSP console level command "set mdmrmeth fixeda" and the TCM method using Configure/Programmed Settings/Card Level/Parameter/Routing Method. A "display mdmrmeth" on each DSP in console mode shows FIXED ASSIGNMENT. Any suggestions? Am I missing something?
