Hey folks, Any workaround for this ,,, difference of "list conncetions" and "list sessions" getting increases day by day ?? Anyway to resolve it except upgrade and reboot ?? What is the best method to reboot, I am just switching off the powerunit and switch it ON again, is this method damage anything?? Red question mark on chassis display

Looking a new chassis I see a red question mark on the back view of the chassis, slot 15 (typically where a 2nd arc-nic would go). I cannot seem to clear this, when you click the slot is shows "UNKNOWN" yet there is NO card inserted there. I'm trying to set up a 2nd arc in that slot, however when I insert the NIC/NAC set the NMC hub status goes red and I cannot get an ethernet link either. I pull the NAC card and the hub status light goes out, I've tried several different ARC NIC/NAC card sets and they all do the same thing. Searching 3COM KB brought up only one slightly relevant topic, however that did not solve the problem. I'm thinking of pulling the NMC card out totally and re-inserting it, maybe that will clear this problem. My ARC's are all setup for static slot assignments with no DSA enabled either, so I should be able to pop the NMC out and back in with no ill effects. Can anyone on this list provide me a link to any documentation or explanation regarding the trace debug facility list of the HiPerDSP? Been looking it up to all Commworks site and even on the Knowledgbase to no luck. All im wanting is the meaning of each facility. NMC Code update failure

Hi. I attempted to update the operational code to 7.1.8 on several of our NMC NACs recently, using TCM 7.0.7. Some worked fine. On two of them, the TFTP transfer failed before it completed, and the cards were left codeless. When I reconnected to them to try again, the transfer failed. I can no longer connect to them through the TCM, presumably because the IP is gone. The console too is silent when I try it. What do I need to do to get firmware back on these cards? I have tried a USR External, various brand lucent/agere gernerics, and a generic PCtel. All work good - none get more than 31K upstream (even though the TC reports V.92PCMUpstream in session monitor), and none came with the modem on hold. Thanks! NMC RTC error

Hi there to all TC gurus all over the world :) I hope there is someone who can enlighten me regarding the following problem: Platform: USR TC with HiperNMC Revision 6.2.17 (8M flash, 16M DRAM), HiperARC 4.2.11 and Dual E1/CAS 1.3.4 Problem: when trying to use TCM to connect to the NMC, I get 'No response' just after the fase where it is 'Retrieving NMC version'. Cause (determined by console and eye observation :): the NMC reboots. The same behaviour occurs when I manually snmpwalk it from a Linux machine: reboot at some OIDs (many of them, I haven't tried them all).
