I;ve had this happen a few times. Just reboot the NMC card by sliding it out if the chassis or via the console interface and it will be well again (until next time). Hi Scot, We see this a lot on Hiper DSP cards when they fail. Try the Z-Modem procedure through the console port to reload code to it and see if that works. Most of the cards we see like this have to be sent back to 3Com for repair. Not ever having a DSL go bad on me, what is the best course of action -- attempt to have Commworks repair it, replace it with a used card, ??? Card is about 2.5 years old. two arcs

Hi, I've been reading up on how to get two hiper arcs working, and there appear to be numerous ways... -static config where each arc owns half the cards -dynamic config where the nmc decides who owns what -variations on the above Which one actually works? I'm most interested in sharing the load, but an automatic failover would be nice too. I saw some old posts in the archives that mention that in some failure modes (where the arc doesn't fully fail but sticks in a reboot loop) the whole chassis basically takes a dive as ownership flip-flops between two arcs. I hope we can avoid legal issues that can be caused by such activity and have attached copy of the license agreement that everyone must agree to before downloading code, any code, off of TotalService. How do you...

Here's a question - maybe someone knows how to do it. I would like to set up a chassis, specifically an older chassis with the 35A power in it (which is why my earlier question about the PS), and put a decent NMC and ARC in it. But instead of a DSP, I'd like to put a <something> card in it that can answer a POTS line. Anyone know what hardware I need? The purpose is this: I'd like to mess with things like creating filters and such on a non-production unit, and be able to dial-in and test, just not using one of my T1's for actual users. Anyone know what I need? Or even if it can be done? I tried using an old Quad-V.32terbo modem card, but it doesn't even answer (and TCM doesn't like it at all). I'm assuming the Quad-V.32's ONLY work through their serial connection at the rear of the unit. Is there a Quad V.34 with a NIC on the back that will take analog calls and route them through an ARC? Just curious. Hi- I need to clear the call statistics on my DSP's; I have been manually rebooting them to do so. I understood that that was the only way to do it in the past. I haven't revisited it for over a year, so perhaps there is a way now for either via SNMP?
