Dear colleagues, The latest issue of Tang Studies (number 33) has now appeared online and should be reaching members in hard copy soon. I want to take this opportunity to energetically thank Christopher Nugent for his excellent service as the editor of Tang Studies . As those of us who are long-serving officers and directors know, Chris took over the journal in a time of enormous transition and weathered many unanticipated challenges along the way with patience and perseverance, while never missing a deadline or lowering the high standards of the journal, a truly important achievement. We have all benefited from Chris’s hard work, and the journal’s health today owes much to his scholarly and editorial dedication. This is also an important transition moment for the journal. I would like to warmly welcome Nick Williams to the position of editor of Tang Studies , As of January 1, 2016, Nick (of Hong Kong Baptist University) steps into the editorship. Please continue to support the journal by sending submissions to him at either editor@tangstudies.org or nmw@hkbu.edu.hk . Tang Studies welcomes submission of essays, research notes, annotated translations, and brief communications. Note that the deadline for manuscripts to be considered for inclusion in volume 34 will be the end of February. My best wishes to all for a good spring semester. Sincerely, Anna M. Shields Professor of Chinese Literature Dept. of East Asian Studies 211 Jones Hall Princeton University Princeton, NJ 08544 609.258.5365 President, T’ang Studies Society http://tangstudies.org/
