Wow! It looks like a cyclist’s dream reading the ride options for this week.

The weather is almost perfect (a few degrees cooler would be perfect) how could you not get out and ride. From some GREAT beginner and family oriented rides hosted by Shelly to picking a hill to climb at each end of the valley (and don’t forget Malcolm’s canyon club on Wed). or you can rack up another century and support a great cause at the same time (Tour de Cure).

Back Side Tuesday: Park City Hills

Come enjoy the "Back Side of the Wasatch Front" on weekday tours of Summit and Wasatch Counties. Today's ride has 4-5 climbs between 300' and 1000'. We are working our way up to the "7 hills" ride later on this summer.

 

Meet at: Park City Mountain Resort north parking lot (by the \"First Time\" chair). Directions: From Park Ave., take Empire Ave. towards the resort, but turn right onto Silver King Drive before you get to the resort. Go 1 block, and the parking lot will be on your left. Call first before driving up, if the weather looks bad.

Canyon Club - Millcreek Canyon

Escape the heat in Mill Creek CanyonWasatch Blvd to Top 9.43 miles, Elevation Gain 3,000’, Average Grade 8%. There are some steep spots but they are always followed by a recovery section. Top half, past gate, is closed to car traffic till July 1st. Bring a jacket or arm warmers. It’s always cool in the canyons and, it will be cool descending.

 

Meet at: parking lot on Wasatch Blvd. about 3700 South. Ride up Wasatch to Millcreek Canyon Road and ride up canyon to top or snow line.

Tour De Cure

Join BBTC members in conjuction with the Gold's Gym cycling team in the Utah Tour de Cure. This fully supported ride of 25, 60 or 100 mile loops in Box Elder County, Utah (Golden Spike Century), is the annual cycling event of the American Diabetes Association. Raising a minimum of $100 in contributions is required to ride. For details and registration go to the TDC website at http://tour.diabetes.org . Reigister on the Gold's Gym team to ride with fellow BBTC members and the first 101 members that raise the $100 minimum will recieve a free Gold's Gym cycling jersey. The ride heads south to Draper then west along the west frontage road, over the point, then east along ut 92. up American fork canyon, then left up north fork road to tibble fork res. the return trip returns via suncrest subdivision (south mtn) it has a very big climb of about 4 miles followed by a fast decent. then over to 1300 east and back to the car!!

Trappers loop to Snowbasin

Climb Trapper's Loop to the SnowBasin lodge, take a break at the lodge, head back for a quick climb (again??) followed by a lightning fast downhill. 1777 feet of elevation gain in approximately 8 miles.

 

Meet at: Sinclair convenience store, 150 W OLD HIGHWAY RD, Mountain Green, Ut. Eastbound interstate 84 to Highway 167 / SnowBasin exit, go east 1.7 miles on Highway 167 to Sinclair station.
