Do I like it? Um, sure, for a song from someone like Justin Timberlake.
Ouch, Maggie, that hurt *me*. :) I don't think JT could write lyrics that good. I just had a listen for myself to "Send Your Love", and... I liked it. So--Sting dropped the pretentions. Yeah, I've been a fan forever, I know his song writing style et. al. Yeah, it's not like anything else he's done, yeah it does have different lyrics (though not as simple as they might seem), yeah you can dance to it--and...? Well, it's still a Sting song, after all his vocal signature is in it. I think it's kind of fabulous to have a song where he's letting loose. I've always loved Sting's ability to create rhythmic music, and contrast a basically unrhythmic voice with it. Of course, that makes a lot of his dances mixes un-listenable. Though, some of them are okay. Of his songs, I prefer the ones where his voice is more in-time with the rhythm of the music, or more complimented by the music. I never wanted dance toons, but I can appreciate this attempt to go in the direction of adding more rhythm in his voice. I hope that makes sense. I still don't think I'm saying what I mean actually. The first time I saw the title for "Send Your Love", I kept hearing Debbie Gibson's song (which I HATE) "Shake Your Love" --arrgh. Now, I'm thinking of Steve Miller. Go, figure. I guess I'm the only one who was reminded at the beginning, of the song "Fly Like an Eagle". I think I could probably do with less of those few notes of that Eastern sounding back beat though. It could get to me. Yeah, it's not a masterpiece of musical genius, but it's fun. There's nothing wrong with having fun with a song. We all remember the 80's (well most of us). By the way, I've never quite understood the out-right dislike for the song "We'll Be Together". :/ Teri ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
