Sting at Dominic's show last night
Jer and I are in London for Dom's shows this week and were delighted to see many familiar faces there .... including Sting's! Dominic looks great (the long hair is back) and sounds terrific. He shared his good news that 'Shapes' charted at number 1 in the UK Classical charts this week. Dom was clearly chuffed to share the news ... and metioned that he was shocked that his record sold more than Bocelli for the week. He and Neil Stacey really play well together and the venue they are playing is perfect--a 212 table seating jazz club in the heart of Soho. Very intimate setting. They played a mix of tunes from Dom's solo albums and their joint CD, as well as Hounds of Winter, during which Sting watched but didn't join them in. I had a nice chat with Sting after the show, during which he told me that his tour was starting in January. Andy Fynch decided that we'd been talking too long after about 10 mins and came over to ask about the "flavor" of the new album ... to which Sting responded, "Strawberry flavor mostly." Sting was in good form, very tanned and very relaxed. His goatee is now a short beard. We'll be there again every night for the next three nights so we'll let you know about the rest of the shows.
