Since the middle of November, the two big "adult contemporary" radio stations in Dallas have been playing all Christmas music, 24 hours a day. While I like Christmas music, it's kind of strange that there isn't currently a Dallas station playing the AC format. Anyway, they keep playing Sting's "I Saw Three Ships." Is this song commercially available? I've never heard it before this year. It's only maybe a minute and a half long. Any ideas? Thanks, Tommy TMead17327@aol.com
From the "I Shall Be Released" compilation Vol. 3's booklet notes:
I Saw Three Ships (traditional) Arranged by Sting & Dave Hartley for the athletes of the 'Special Olympics', 1997. Speaking of Dave Hartley, he's co-author with Sting of the songs from the Emperor's New Groove soundtrack. Before buying the CD I had no idea that all of the songs, including the ones performed by Tom Jones, Eartha Kitt and Rascal Flatts, were written by Sting. They are very Disney-ish, but I think they're great and so unusual from him.
