Hi that one is just for the freaks who want to know everything about Sting. I tried to find out the exact date when Sting produced the Duggie Campbell 7" in 1979. So I asked the man who played keyboard on the single. This is his reply: Hi Dietmar, I remember the single was recorded in a studio in London – no idea which one...we shared a cab with Sting after the session and he was talking about having just played at the Reading festival if that’s any help. I might have more info on my website in the discography – jonnsavannah.co.uk Sting produced the sessions and was very actively involved. He was unhappy that the drummer was playing lightly and was in the room with him jumping up and down, trying to get more energy from him. It worked to a degree! I suggested that we go the reggae route on one of the tunes (it might have been the one you mention...) and Sting said, “...that’s a good idea – I like reggae...” All in all he seemed like a good guy and was a good vibe to work with – maybe now things are different after his mammoth success. Cheers - Jonn bye Dietmar
