Please don't compare the HOF to GA shows, which are STILL the fairest way for true fans to see their favorite bands up close without being among the privileged. Why not, while it is slightly different, the same rules apply. I remember when the Central Park show was announced, everyone was up in arms that the tickets could only be won by New Yorkers and that only new Yorkers knew where the little vans would be etc. When the Radio 2 show in the UK was announced, everyone said unfair, and that if you could only win the tickets in a draw on air, then this would preclude the real fans. I remember standing in the line waiting to get into the Radio2 show, we waited for ages because we had no tickets, and one by one, the winners from the radio all showed up, and some of them were the bigest fans you could ever meet. This was a surprise for a lot of us as none of us knew them, but it didnt mean they were any less fans. On this day, There was 4 of us waiting, and then a french woman showed up later, Dominic came through for us, but sadly not for the french woman (He said sorry to her, but said he had 4 tickets, and that as we (Paul andy, Debs and I were at all the shows, he wanted to help us) but we still had to make our way to London, we still waited outside all day (and it was freezing cold) and despite being told all day that we wouldnt get in, Paul, Andy, Debs and I all got in. Is this luck ? sort of, but we did the hard work so that the luck could find us. Tuscany was the same story, we slaved, begged and groveled to get in, and were told over and over that it wouldn't happen. We were told that it was only 150 people, it was invite only, yet we all went to Italy and kept trying until the last minute. By the time we arrived in Florence, Fred, and I and Paul and Andy and whole host of others from New York, Japan, Europe and the rest of the world all managed to get tickets, but Debs and Sandra did NOT have tickets, even as the bus left to take us to Stings House, Sandra and Debs didnt have tickets, but they followed the bus, and they stood at the gate and they waited...and what happened ? Fred and I managed to get them in with the help of the band. Is this luck ? they went all the way to Italy and chased buses etc to be in the right place at the right time if luck was looking. Tuscany was 150 people, The Hall of fame is 1500 people, thats 10 times the chance and I am willing to bet that when the time comes for the show, many of the people that have put the effort in over the years will find themselves in the show. It comes down to priority, hard work and a little luck. Look at Giovanni, he doesn't have a ticket, but I remember reading his post on here saying that he was going to go to NY anyways and try to get in, that's the sort of thing that helps make it happen. I am not suggesting that 10,000 of you should go to NY and expect to get in, but I promise you, if you don't try, it wont happen Tickets for this show can be bought, you just have to decide if it is worth the money to you, some people will say they cant afford it, some can afford it, and some others decide to make it a priority and miss out on other things in their life to be there. I find it extremely unlikely that it is mere coincidence that the same group of us show up night after night at these concerts and manage to get to all the special events. How many of you are in the Outlandos fanclub ? They have helped immeasurably over the years in getting tickets, and while they can't help for every event, they certainly help a lot, but how many of you join ? make the effort folks..... accept that you are a Sting and Police dweeb and have no real life, and let the fun begin all the best Jeremy
