Unfortunately I was still at school in Blighty when they were touring so have nothing to compare it against apart from Sting concerts. However I will stick my neck out and say that this will be probably be the best Police tour I have seen.!! I wonder what tour did you like the Police sound the best. For me I loved the Zenyatta World Tour era sound the best. And I cant expect that again. For me the Ghost Tour they had the sonsg but the horns were distracting and unecessary in my opnion. And the Synch tour got bloated with all the backing singers and each concert the same etc. Dont get me wrong, I saw the Police 4 times on that tour and loved it. But for me when listening to the live stuff..its the Zenyatta tour sounds I like the best. Just curious what others think. ----- Original Message ---- From: Mathew Hoffman <mathew@wattobay.com> To: David Lucky <dlucky711@yahoo.com>; police@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Saturday, June 2, 2007 9:35:35 PM Subject: RE: [Police] police In listening to the aud recording of the rehersal show, I have the same view. I think a good few of the songs have been reworked to such a point that the defining line between solo sting and the police, is somewhat blurred. DTSSCTM sounded somewhat 86ish, and was similar to the way Sting played it on tour down here a number of years ago. But having said that I am now 20 plus years on from when I saw them in 1984 at the Sydney and Melbourne shows, and my taste in music has grown appreciably since then. Maybe as musicans they have grown as well! and their arrangements are reflective of their ages and tastes. Also why no DVD or cds of concerts and no tie in with XM or Sirius for shows yet. Maybe some of that good stuff is to come??
