If you're interested, the Doors (with Stew, I'm assuming, though it doesn't actually *say*) will play at the Universal Amphitheatre in LA on Friday, Feb. 7th. Tickets go on sale Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. though TicketBastard or the UA box office. Also, apparently, the HOF has given the members of the Police six tickets total (including the tickets for themselves) for free. All other tickets for folks like Miles, Ian, any children, friends, etc. have to be purchased. Ian isn't exactly thrilled, and he says Miles, Stew and Andy aren't either. He doesn't know where Sting stands. Ian's point of view is that more than just the three members helped make the band successful. He was a bit put-out by the whole thing, but I think he's realized that it's an amazing opportunity, even if he has to pay for his own ticket. Maggie
Hi! Interesting info on the HOF ceremony. So I guess that they figure that only the band members and their wives/significant others warrant free tickets. There have been articles in the past about how the people that put on the HOF show are money driven and an elite group of people. This I figured was true based on the 3,000.00 ticket price (plus 10,000.00 donation to the museum to have the "opportunity, if available" to purchase tickets). Anyway, I think that it is very cheap to only give 6 tickets total to them for this event. I guess any more tickets would cut into their bottom line. I am not sure where the profits go from the event, but I am pretty sure they do not go to the museum itself if I remember correctly. Hilary
