Okay, he is obviously being held in some sort of hideous mind-control. Instead of bashing him, we should be appealing to the list for anyone who knows him to do an intervention/deprogramming/exorcism.
Maybe it's too much Kipper? :D Seriously, I was surprised to see him at the Sting show at the Warner Theater last thursday night. That reminds me, I need to give my semi-review of the show. I didn't take down a set list this time (though I just know I heard a Soul Gages song in there somewhere). I liked that charcoal pin-striped suit Sting wore with the white collar and cuffs. Though, I was delighted when he took off the jacket and revealed some chest (reminded me of earlier shows *sigh*). Forgive the girly moment there. :D He looked better than he did during the BND tour, I thought. I wasn't too far from the stage, so I got a good look. We spent most of the show on our feet (during The Police tunes, but not that many of the Sacred Love songs). I thought the band sounded really good musically. It was so weird that I was concentrating less on the lyrics (especially during a few of the SL songs). Sometimes the music just made me feel like dancing, then lulled me into a state of complete ease (whenever we were sitting down). I could just sit there watching Sting singing and moving in his characterist ways. :D A few interesting tidbits: It was really cute when Danny Q kept coming out to gently interupt Sting to exchange instruments (base or little guitar) with him. Sting was so involved that he just would keep playing. Yes, it was a little guitar--Sting joked that he had "a bit of an incident before the show...my guitar shrunk". Before he sang Stolen Car, he said it was about "a psychic theif who gets in touch with the owner of the car-- who is a business man with a wife, two kids...and a mistress". Then he said "I'm no psychic, where the f**k did that come from?". When he sang If I Ever Lose My Faith, he emphasised the verse "no faith in Politicians" (which received an enormous applause). Synchronicity II was really fabulous, it gave me chills. Sting's voice was so powerful and strong. He was really into it. In my mind, I heard Stewart's drumming and Andy's guitar riffs, which made it even better. Roxanne was even better than I had heard it before (it's not one of my ultimate favorites). I didn't mind that he sang A Thousand Years at the end, because when he sang "till you love me", I felt like shouting out "I love you". Well, I love that song anyway. He renewed my faith in him as a singer. I had been feeling kind of bummed, since I almost fell asleep watching the Inside DVD. Ooops. Fortunately, most of the SL songs sounded better live (as I thought they would). The ones that didn't rowse my interest still gave me a chance to just sit there and watch Sting. It was bliss.
