Sting broken music tixs hot?
I have been following ticket prices on ebay for up coming Sting shows in the NY area. I dont know if others of you have noticed but these do not seem to be hot tickets. Despite the fact that Sting is playing small venues many tickets are not fetching face value and/or not being sold with no bidders. Of course the high price of the tixs to begin with and the fact hes toured twice already is partly to blame. I just wonder if this tour is generating any buzz as it sure doesnt seem so. I guess the shows are mostly sold out but I am just wondering. At least I am interested in what these broken music shows will be like.
It seems to be depending on the venue...some are reportedly selling very well and others (such as Penn State) are not doing too well so far. It will be interesting to see if sales pick up after the tour starts and as the concert dates for the particular venues get closer. He is doing Jimmy Kimmel (taping tonight, airing tomorrow) as well as some radio in the LA area. I think that frankly a lot of people are not even really aware that he is in fact touring. There is a preview show in LA at the Roxy as well on Monday night. I am very interested to see the set list out of that show. In London over the weekend he did play Demolition Man, Message In A Bottle, Roxanne and Every Breath You Take ...so I take it that those will be in the set list for the tour. I think that this could be the most interesting tour yet for Sting....I for one am really looking forward to seeing it! Hilary
This has got the potential to be Sting's most exciting tour ever. For me, the Soul Cages band/tour was superb - the Broken Music tour might rival that. Shame I won't get to see it... I think it's fair to expect some Police & Sting tunes that haven't been played recently. Now if only he'd come to Europe rather than play his third tour of the US in 18 months... I hope that there will be some decent recordings of the tour. There were very few recordings of Sacred Love shows in circulation compared with the Brand New Day tour. Just a small plea to any tapers out there! Darren

Based on his last two live performances...over the weekend in London and last night on Jimmy Kimmel (which was a very good performance as well as funny interview!), I think that we are in for a lot of Police songs on this tour. So far he did Demolition Man, Message In A Bottle, Roxanne and Every Breath You Take in London and Spirits in the Material World, Message In A Bottle, and Demolition Man on Jimmy Kimmel last night. Have yet to see a Sting solo song... I did see on Dominic's website he mentioned about fans that liked Soul Cages should enjoy this tour so maybe a couple of them will be thrown into the set list. I agree that the Soul Cages tour was really one of the best touring bands yet. I might be biased since I had front row seats for the Beacon show during the Soul Cages tour and it was my first time seeing him live singing his own songs ( I saw him in 3 Penny Opera, but that was him singing other peoples songs!). That show still stands out for the fact that it just rocked and he did so many songs that were dropped later in the tour (sound familiar?). He was also very funny and talked with the Beacon audience during various moments in the show. Plus, I do think that the four piece structure on this tour does make the concert more interesting (although at moments on last night's Kimmel show, I missed the backing vocals on Spirits). I cannot wait to see him on the 26th!
