Re: [Police] police dates 15 & 16 May 200
It'd be funny to me--- I only do it since at one point there were like 4 or 5 Michelle's posting. It was confusing even me! Thinking about stopping since I haven't seen the Michelle's over on this list lately! I'm always griping that Sting only goes to Houston, SA and Dallas. Never Austin. Last time I saw Sting in Austin was I think in 1996 when we still had the larger outdoor amphitheater. David Bowie, the Stones played Austin in the past few years, the Police should too. I'm thinking if TX is on the list, it'll be Dallas and maybe Houston. Can't pass Houston up due to the ability to jack up the ticket prices there. Out of all the shows I saw in the past few years, the Houston prices were about 75% higher than the others. Go figure. Are you a Chris Botti fan? He's playing Houston on Tuesday. I'm trying to figure out a way to juggle my kids to get there, but it's not looking too good. Michelle In a message dated 1/6/07 5:40:21 PM, casimar@yahoo.com writes:
Yes I am, although I am used to Sting not coming to Houston on his tours lately. Maybe they'll go to Dallas, do you think? That seems the only chance.
Christopher (I was actually tempted to sign "in Texas" like you do, but I wasn't sure it'd be funny to anyone but me)

LOL--this time next week we'll all be wildly speculating about the setlist. :-)  I just hope tour dates are announced in, say, Texas.

I know what you mean about the Houston/SA/Dallas triad except that Sting definitely skipped the big H during his "solo" Sacred Love tour (i.e. the one without Annie Lennox). Only Dallas seems never to get shortshrifted (I guess because a Dallas DJ played Roxanne...?) I definitely saw Sting in Austin at the Erwin Center on the BND tour, but that's too bad if he hasn't returned. I was really mad though to have to drive all the way to Dallas to see him during SACRED LOVE (maybe he was afraid to play "This War" here in Houston...? I loved the mixed reactions of the Dallas crowd to that tune.) But anyway as to what you actually asked my job is in "mandatory overtime" mode this month (how does that work exactly I still don't understand) so its unlikely I could have seen Botti even if I'd realized. Still, I hope you make it so you can write us a review. I think Botti is the best musician to wander into Sting's circle since Branford. Seems like a nice guy, too.
