Like most of you, I am still in shock and awe that this is all happening. A fan since 1980, and someone that has pined for this to happen...it HAS happened...and I still have a hard time believing it. I got tix for the 8/1 show at MSG. Not great, but I wanted to get my foot in the door for this show. (I cannot go to the 8/3 show my 20th high school reunion is that weekend. Decisions decisions decisions!!!) (And ironic, too!) Anyway, I am not that distraught over the tix I have. For one thing, I will beg/borrow/steal to upgrade them. Also, I plan on going to other shows anyway. Regarding those "others", one city that I am interested to see if they play is BUFFALO. Their last ever USA show on SYNCHRONICITY tour was in Buffalo. The show was an add on - originally, they had no intention of playing there, but wound up doing a Buffalo gig due to some exploits of a local DJ. (Stop me if you have heard this one before!) I went to high school in the Buffalo area, and did NOT attend this show. One kid in my homeroom went, and I have never been so envious of anyone in my life...then up until now. If they play Buffalo on this tour, I will not make the same mistake twice... Rich (Foxie) ____________________________________________________________________________________ It's here! Hey Rich (and everyone else that may be interested) - Here's a funny Buffalo-related story for you. I grew up (for the most part) in Rochester (for those that don't know, Rochester is 1 hour east of Buffalo by car). When The Police played in Rochester on the Synchronicity tour, a friend asked me if I wanted to go to the concert. I said no, as I had never been to a concert before and I was not really sure who The Police were (I would have been 12 years old at the time). Anyway, of course the concert was huge, and when I read about it in the newspaper the next day I couldn't believe my eyes. The newspaper had the setlist for the show, and I could see that The Police played all of my favourite songs....I had no idea that De Do Do Do, Don't Stand, Spirits, Every Breath, Message, etc. etc. were all by the same band, let alone that band was The Police!!!! I was so disappointed that I had missed the concert when I had had an opportunity to go! To this day, I can still remember exactly where I was sitting in my house when I read that newspaper article (in fact, I probably still have that article somewhere, as I remember cutting it out). So, the day after the Synchronicity concert in Rochester is the day I became a Police fan, and is the day my record collection was started. The Buffalo concert was added on unexpectedly, and the father of my friend who initially asked if I wanted to go to the concert in Rochester agreed to take us both to Buffalo to see the concert there....unfortunately, by the time we knew about that show, it had sold out, so I missed them again....and as a result, I have never seen The Police in concert. I hope to make up for that this time around! ...Yours is a more agonizing then my story, Bruce! You missed out TWICE! And you people that wanted to go to the shows! Not me. That "homeroom guy" I mentioned...I think he was the only person in the whole school that went to that Buffalo show. I can remember him in school the next day, wearing a concert shirt! Funny enough though...my love for the band was evident even back then...once show announced, all my friends asked me if I were going, and were surprised when I said I wasn't...LAME-O that I was!
