On the www.thepolice.com/virtualticket/ site (as many of you know) you can see the set list for any show. Not sure who puts this in but its gotta be cut and paste. No changes I can see since the first week or so when they toyed with Spirits in there. But after that it looks to be basically cemented in show after show. They are coming back for another swing through the Northeast in November..any chance for any set list change you think? I have seen them 4 times on the tour so far and considering more but along with the cash its just something I was thinking about.....D David L.
I would highly doubt that the setlist would change at this point. Sting likes to lock it in after the first couple of weeks. The "problem" with the setlist is that it covers pretty much every popular Police song. I don't think anyone would come out of the show saying "They didn't play such-and-such." The setlist is a crowd-pleaser as is, so I think that's what we're gonna get for the rest of the tour. -----Original Message----- From: police-bounces+f.berthelot=ramsa.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:police-bounces+f.berthelot=ramsa.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of David Lucky Sent: Friday, September 21, 2007 12:28 PM To: police@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Police] Set list On the www.thepolice.com/virtualticket/ site (as many of you know) you can see the set list for any show. Just this morning I searched for and found the set list for Sept. 19th's Vienna show--and it was the same as the 3 shows I saw in August! I expected the European tour set to be slightly different because it's a different audience. I do wish they'd mix it up more. My wishes are 'Bring on the Night' and 'Man in a suitcase'. We'll see... Down here in the bottom, in Argentina, I only expect them to come, and I'm immeasurably pleased with that... Anyway I'm hopeless about them changing the setlist. I agree with Fred about the "crowd-pleaser" setlist. Couldn't they play something more "rocker"... Landlord? Fallout? Am I asking too much? I think so... Leandro On 9/21/07, K.
Pretty much. It's set at this point and I don't foresee any changes anytime soon. But really, it's not the set list that it's all about for me--they still do a lot to improvise and shake things up night to night. Last night I saw Genesis, another "reformed" touring band, and their set list hasn't changed *once* since the get-go of their tour despite having a much larger catalog of music to work from. But there was very little--if any--room for improvisation and soloing within the set, so while I enjoyed the show a lot I was still satisfied with seeing it just once. Meanwhile I'll be very happy to get to as many Police shows as I can, even if it's just the same set of songs. sockii
I'd have to look it up but I do remember one of them intimating that when they go back and play the same markets again, there will be changes. However, that doesn't mean it's necessarily gonna happen, and although it would be a great surprise (especially being at a show where something new appears or the first time), I'm pretty sure Fred and Sockii have it right... Right now they have 6 Outlandos, 2 Regatta (not counting RDB in CSLY), 5 Zenyatta, 2 Ghost, and 5 Synchronicity songs. I have to say that if there is another substitution, it might be in the Voices/World, even though I think those are rocking pretty hard in the live arrangements, but that's just complete speculation and, once again, against how things are appearing to go <grin> I suppose I'll have to wait and see what happens on Halloween, (even though Wembley will be the first re-visit, technically) but I try to avoid preconceived expectations and just fully enjoy the event, the moment! best wishes all, GinaSuperCat

Can you find the hidden words? Take a break and play Seekadoo! http://club.live.com/seekadoo.aspx?icid=seek_wlmailtextlink
In Amsterdam they rehearsed Bring On The Night...in Tuscany in April they rehearsed Tea In The Sahara as well... I bet they will do something in Paris with Henri Padovani...maybe not, but if they will do it, I guess we may have surprises like Fall Out ....that would be great.
