Hey gang, Giovanni here! Too crazy...too bizarre...too funny...the show in montecarlo was incredible....Sting invited a few girls on stage for Desert Rose but the whole thing got out of control, and ALL OF US jumped on stage....ahahahaha, too funny!!! Lydia (next to Sting) and I were on stage with something like 30 other girls and whoever wanted to get on stage...yes, not only crazy girls shouting and dancing and kissing Sting ....I have no words to explain but it was crazy crazy crazy time! No security, everthing got out of control, I was taking pictures a few centimetres from Sting, but I was trying not to fell on cables and all the gear on stage while most of the others were not even taking care of the danger of falling from the stage or get their feet on some pedals! The whole DESERT ROSE song was like that, as well as the beginning of EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE; someone tryied to come back to normality...but it was too late..... ahahahaha.....I can't stop laughing, it was a mess, there was no rule...aaahahaha...and all of that was provoqued by STING himself! He could sing in the middle of the girls trying to kiss him (and they did!). he kept on singing and playing (most of them were touching his bass...and I am sure something else as well....)...he seemed very happy about what was happening.... I took many pics...I hope somebody did some video as this is something you all have to see.....so bizarre, so funny.... The place was the weirdest place where I have seen a Sting concert...just long tables like a wedding party, everybody was sitting but me and some friends, but every now and then someone tryied to stand up....untile DESERT ROSE when that thing happened..... I will send some pics to Stingus.net and Sting.com.....they must be seen...too funny ! Lydia and I enjoyed so much this show......!!! I'll tell you more soon, but now I have Stewart Copeland on the other side of the town (Milan), he is rehearsing with his new band! Ain't it cool??? Ciao ciao Giovanni Ps.: I'll tell you more about the soundcheck as well (amazing version of Every Little Thing....); from the setlist a few songs were off: SYNCHRONICITY II, DRIVEN TO TEARS, WHY SHOULD I CRY....but he added WE'LL BE TOGETHER.
Hello gang, Giovanni here. Now, I just came back from the hotel where Stewart is staying for this week-end here in Milano. He's ok, a little tired but very happy for yesterday show in Germany. That's what he said about yesterday: "Even the Germans couldn't stay seated for LA TARANTA; that music can let everybody jump up and dance, it's impossible to stay seated! We enjoyed a lot, we played for about 90 minutes. A good show, the only one as LA NOTTE DELLA TARANTA ENSEMBLE this year." As to Gizmo he said: "We got this new brilliant guitar player called PHIL X (you can check http:www.powdermusic.com) and a new singer, Dodo who is African; they both can sing very well, let's see if Phil can sing some of the songs while Dodo might do the songs where we need some sort of rap vibe. The setlist might be similar to last year but we got some new stuff we're working at..." As to the Police dvd coming out: "I thought it would be released in August, while I just discovered the release date should be mid-September; I'm very happy for that and in a way it will be the very final chapter in the Police history. It's like THE BLAIRWITCH PROJECT and THE SPINAL TAP, sort of in the middle of it; to finalise the project I crossed so many different obstacles like asking permissions of everything, from the hotel chains to the drawings in the t-shirts of people appearing in the movie, maybe collaborators we had in the studio or people in the backstage...it was fun working on it but it was even hard to turn it from a home movie to a professional product...the world changed since it was premiered at Sundance". I did the interview for a magazine called JAM while another journalist did it for ROCKSTAR, one of the main music magazine around here. I then spent some time with Stewart after everybody was gone. I will see him again in the coming days and weeks, and I will report everything, including new pics. I told Stewart about all the private messages I got from many of you concerning Ian, he's very happy to see how we all got close to him. Sorry about the troubles we're having due to the hackers attack; I guess that by Monday or Tuesday you will see something re-established again, including the news section; the main trouble will remain the forum as most of the messages that were on the other room of this forum...have all gone....I'm sure we'll be soon back to normality! I took a pic of me and him, but I have no chance to upload it now, then if you wanna see it, just e-mail me and I will send it over. Brothers and Sisters.....More news to come in the coming days! Ciao ciao Giovanni
