Cheers, Karel
Thanks, for the information, Karel. Though the album is about love, the themes do NOT sound like the hackneyed themes of your typical love songs. Indeed, Sting has always dealt with the complexities of love, the darker corridors. "Every Breath You Take," with its sinister undercurrent of surveillance and control and "When We Dance" with its love triangle, are two examples. Even, "Fields of Gold," in which the narrator looks back on a perfect moment in time, a moment he will always hold in his a memory but a moment that is gone nonetheless, can be viewed as a melancholy song, depending on one's perspective. Sounds as if we can expect more of the same lyrics from the new album. Those who were worried that the new album would be filled with greeting card drivel can rest easy. Johnny Nitro
