before going on to main topic, let me say i am still in mourning over the loss of the great johnny cash, who covered "i hung my head" on his last studio record. a music icon of the elvis variety. next, i cannot remember if this topic has been raised yet, so i will raise it: how does everyone feel about the posting of setlists/review from every show on a sting tour? i must say that i am not a fan of it. i saw three shows on the dreaded BND tour, 2 of them within 3 days of each other. what is important is the 1st one that i saw: having already seen the setlist (which we all know NEVER changes)and read a good portion of the reviews (show reviews and some respective song-by-song reviews), that as a result of all the pre-concert "knowledge" i gained, i felt that before the show even started, that i had already witnessed it; that i had already experienced it before it began - because i knew EXACTLY how it was going to turn out before it even started. that all leads up to this: i propose that, after the 1st show and unless there is a major deviation within a set as the tour goes on, that we all try to refrain from posting setlists and giving a song-by-song review of a concert that we might take in. i honestly feel that it will better our experience of/at any show(s) we take in. kick around your thoughts on this... best, rich __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? how about this, if you're gonna post a setlist/review of the show, you put Sacred Love Review or something to that effect in the subject line, then those who want to read it can, those who don't can delete it. on 9/17/03 12:44 PM, foxie at forfoxie@yahoo.com wrote:

thank you for all the posts on this so far. i think amaryll has the right idea - we should identify in a post's subject line that it a show review. i know that i, after about the 5 shows of BND tour, stopped reading the reviews - this because each one seemed to be an exact duplicate of each other, regardless of which show was being reported on. yes, it would be terrific if sting altered the setlist every show, like radiohead does, like pearl jam does... ... because you're mine, i walk the line... rich --- amaryll <amaryll@norwoodlight.com> wrote:

Or, maybe another option??? Let's post every set list and then start bringing large signs to the concert and flash up to the band the title of the next song they are going to play and see if they get the hint? And then if you are lucky enough to see a show where the set list was changed, tell us all about it. When he asked me on his stage 08-31-96 in San Diego so that I could sing with him and then propose to my girlfriend from his stage, he actually did change the set list. IT THREW THE BAND OFF! He had to correct Kenny because he wanted to play "Fields" after "ISHICSC". Have an awesome day!
