following story taken from billboard.com. continuing his quest to try to outrun the police legacy, i sure hope sting will be able to break away to play at the HOF ceremony. i sure this album will be a great topic of conversation that night... Sting is hard at work on his next A&M/Interscope studio album at his studio in Tuscany, Italy. According to the artist's official Web site, a steady stream of unnamed guest artists have participated in the sessions. The as-yet-untitled set "remains on track for a likely release next autumn," the site says. The artist's last studio album, "Brand New Day," peaked in September 2000 at No. 9 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 3.5 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was followed up by the concert release "... All This Time," recorded in Tuscany. Sting's rendition of "Fragile" from the latter album was nominated yesterday (Jan. 7) for a best male pop vocal performance Grammy. One of the artist's competitors in the field is British R&B star Craig David; Sting guested on the track "Rise & Fall" from David's latest Wildstar/Atlantic album, "Slicker Than Your Average." __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hello everybody from Giovanni...(are you still laughing about me????) Here I am with another issue, about the forthcoming Lesley Garrett release (in Italy) that includes 'Fields Of Gold' and 'Scarborough Fair', this last one sees Dominic Miller on guitar. As for 'Fields' I'm not that much into a sort of Enya-esque sound and I'm not that impressed by this couver; if you like those sort of celtic/classic voices you may like it, or at least give a listen to it. As for Dominic parts of 'Scarborough Fair', that's nice, I like the way the whole song has been recreated and orchestrated, and Dominic touch is well recognisable. Ciao ciao Giovanni
