I think it's easy to skim the bad stuff off a sea of high quality lyrics. Funny thing is that, while I would never claim the bad stuff is good, it always seems to be tongue-in-cheek. I can't believe Sting had any illusions about "shake and cough/that book by Nabakov", or the brontosaurus in "Walking in Your Footsteps".... Ang
