Now, tell me more about the five Texans and why don't I know them. texas isn't THAT big ya' know!!! PS....you're good, how in the WORLD did you remember all those names? I have some from Vancouver that I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out! cheers! Michelle in tx In a message dated 7/10/07 7:35:45 PM, dolanbalin@yahoo.com writes:
Yup, it's over, no more Police concerts for me. [heavy sigh] I've been to 7 Police concerts in one month, 9 concerts in all counting the two for FictionPlane. I told a friend of mine I wasn't a groupie 'cause I didn't sleep with the band, and he countered with yeah, but you wanted to! I hate it when men are right... ;D So, yes, I am a Police Groupie. Under that definition, I am a FictionPlane groupie, too, but I don't think the guys would necessarily find that happy news... Seriously some of the best times I ever had, from Vancouver BC to Vegas to New Orleans. Oh, and whoever coined, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" has never been to New Orleans! Kudos and love to my support group, my three kids Marley, Sean & Alex, and my bestest friend Jasmine! (she is the *only* one who knows everything that happened!) Special thanks to Jesse, Michael, Eric, Jeff, and Ryan. Honourable mention to Robert and the five Texans, the Scottish twins and the nine kilted Scots, Juan and Scott at the ESPN Zone in Vegas, and the boys at Boondocks in NOLA (especially Pete the owner!, and Teddy, Ross, Chris...) And a big "CHA!" to my old and new Police friends and cohorts (in no particular order): Maggie, Jen, Dan, Deb, Jer, Bill & Patti, Chris, Bruce, Jock, Michelle, Paul, Andy, Jodi, Julie, Hilary, Oscar, yellowstonegirl, Scottie, Johnny, Cass & his brother-in-law, Andy (no, not that one!) his sis and her very British boyfriend, Gina, Dive, Laura, Michelle & Frank, Jim & Judy, Donna, Rik (well, actually R 2D), Chris & Carla... there are more, but Guinness and old age prevent me from remembering... Quick snapshots of great memories: Being interviewed live on a Vancouver classic rock station with Maggie & Bruce Eating lunch and walking memory lane with the 2001 Vegas gang (I am SO glad I am not alone in having Vegas be one of my fondest memories!) Ceile's the Plaza (FP: you ROCKED that dump!) Rooming first w/ Michelle and then Maggie Will Call--donuts--R 2D My first Police concert: Fan Club show in Van My second Police concert: Opening night in Van The Media Club Breaking down in 109-122 degree heat 1 mile from Baker on the way to Vegas Calling my mechanic Best Buy pre-party: Vegas Talking to Pete Meeting Andy (no, not that one!) Running into my best friend from high school right before the concert each not knowing the other would be there! My third Police Concert: Vegas The five Texans... they changed my mind re: Texas! The nine kilted Scotsmen... especially the twins! All the Irish pubs I found--oh, yes, this girl can find a Guinness on tap even in the French Quarter!--like Ceilie's in Van, Nine Fine Irishmen in Vegas (NOT hard to find however!) and Boondocks in NOLA (my new favorite bar—for so many reasons!—on earth. It’s owned and run by ex-cops and feds)... The Times Square bar and ESPN Zone bar in NY,NY The desert at night on the way home from Vegas My fourth Police concert: Staples Center, LA Taking two of my kids to their first Police concert and having them meet Pete Maggie staying over my house for the LA series... So Cool! She's the best! My fifth Police concert: Honda Center in the OC Taking my other boy to his first Police concert and having him meet FP and getting all of our tees signed... and posters, too The Viper Room (FP… once again boys, you rocked the dump!) Andy again The Best Buy Pre-party at Dodger Stadium My sixth Police concert: Dodger Stadium, LA w/ my son and two of his friends and having that be one of their top five experiences ever! The (full) Moon Over Bourbon Street Johnny White’s Boondocks Playing with Plutonic for half a day in the French Quarter Two Sisters My seventh Police concert: New Orleans Boondocks (oh yeah, it’s worth mentioning again!) Zada Sunrise over Bourbon Street There are other memories that will stay in my head forever, great moments forever associated with the Police. god, it’s GREAT to be alive and single, loving the Police, loving FictionPlane, loving my kids, my friends—old and new, loving to travel, loving life! It’s also good to be home… To the rest of you still playing with the Police or have yet to go: savor.
